Talk in Rochester

This Sunday, in Rochester, I will be giving a brief talk about my grandfather, Solomon Simon. I will also talk about my journey to Yiddish, and about (my beginnings towards) translating his work.

I’m still putting this together. If you have followed this blog, and if there’s something you would particularly like to hear me talk about, comment here, and I’ll see what I can do.

I always and eagerly look forward to seeing my old Yiddish classmates and reading circle friends when I come back to town. See you Sunday!

  1. David,

I know your talk will be fascinating, even without anyone’s comments. But since you asked, I wonder how much of your grandfather’s legacy played a part in your journey to Yiddish? Would it have happened anyway?

Looking forward to Sunday. Best wishes! H
